MONSTER ENERGY TEAM USA QUALIFYING UPDATE
Kawasaki riders Timmy Ferry and Ryan Villopoto teamed with Ricky Carmichael led Monster Energy Team USA to a sweep of their respective qualifying races on Saturday in preparation of the 2007 Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek Motocross Park.
The MX1 class started off the day of qualifiers with Carmichael taking an early lead. After clearing turn one, he never looked back, finishing with a 30-second lead over the competition.
The MX2 class wasn't much different as Villopoto launched his Kawasaki KX™250F off the start. He led every lap and finished with a dominating 43-second advantage over second place.
The final race of the day was the Open class, formerly the MX3 class. Ferry avoided a first turn crash and worked his way up from third to take the lead on lap three aboard his Kawasaki KX™450F. He came across the finish 25 seconds ahead of the next rider.
The Monster Energy USA team will receive the first gate pick for Sunday's final set of races for the 2007 Motocross of Nations.
