BUELL BLAST SETS NEW LAND SPEED RECORD AT BONNEVILLE NATIONAL'S SPEED WEEK![]() At the 59th annual Bonneville National's Speed Week, August 11-17, 2007, the JDees Performance racing team and their modified Buell Blast motorcycle set a new land speed record in the 500cc Modified Partially Streamlined – Pushrod Fuel class (MPS-PF). The average of two runs in the measured mile was 126.959 mph, beating the old record of 124.552 mph. The team now holds eight active Bonneville records with Buell motorcycles. JDees Performance team consists of a few Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Buell Motorcycle Company employees who enjoy land speed racing in their spare time. FULL METAL ATTRACTION OPEN HOUSE AND SWEEPSTAKES The Full Metal Attraction Open House and Sweepstakes is taking place at participating Harley-Davidson and Buell dealerships across the country throughout September. Dealerships will be hosting Open House events for customers to rumble down and check out the new 2008 Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles. While visiting the local dealerships, customers will be able to enter the Full Metal Attraction Sweepstakes for a chance to win a 2008 Harley-Davidson Dyna Fat Bob along with $10,000 in Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories and MotorClothes merchandise. There is also a chance to win a V.I.P. trip to Milwaukee to visit the new Harley-Davidson Museum, opening Summer 2008. HARLEY-DAVIDSON KANSAS CITY VEHICLE AND POWERTRAIN OPERATIONS ANNOUNCES 2007 OPEN HOUSE EVENTS The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the Harley-Davidson Vehicle and Powertrain Operations in Kansas City, Mo., have established a new event tied to their annual open house. The Heartland Hope MDA event will take place Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant located at 11401 N. Congress, Kansas City, Mo. Harley-Davidson dealerships and their Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) chapters from Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois are also participating in fundraising activities to support this unique event. With more than 300,000 square feet of event and motorcycle parking space, Heartland Hope includes a broad range of exciting activities to appeal to motorcycle enthusiasts and families alike. Harley-Davidson factory tours will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7-8. Tours are free to the public. On Friday, individuals must be age twelve or above to take the tours. However, on Saturday, there are no age restrictions. 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle demo rides will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the location on Sept. 7-8, to those who pre-register with a valid motorcycle license and appropriate riding gear. The event is also a H.O.G. pin stop and includes food vendors and commemorative merchandise sales. Other events at the facility include the Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum, MDA fundraisers, music, children's attractions, a dyno truck, car shows, a ride-in bike show, stunt team performances and more than twenty-five various vendors. The event wraps up at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8, with a drawing for a 2007 Harley-Davidson Street Bob motorcycle! Tickets for the raffle are available for five dollars at Harley-Davidson dealerships throughout Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois and will be available at the event.
